CLASS ACT DONATES TO OUR SCHOOL

C.L.A.S.S. Act (Community Leading And Supporting Students) distributed $60,000 to Kearney Public Schools in September. Every year the steering committee delivers oversized checks to each school and shares with the students what C.L.A.S.S. Act does. The annual fundraiser took place in April and raised $116,000.   See additional photos on the KPS  Facebook Page
ART ROCKS!

The Kenwood Parent Teacher Organization recently completed a large scale fundraising effort to fund 2 new playgrounds for the new Kenwood Elementary School. To honor our wonderful donors, we are hosting an art contest to design a piece of artwork that will be made into a large tile mural to be installed in the Kenwood School cafeteria. Our intent is to incorporate the seven donor levels and names into the design, please do not let this limit your creativity. The design contest is open to everyone in the community, any age level.

Monthly Healthy Snack Sales

Healthy Snack Sales

This is the 2nd year the PTO is sponsoring healthy snacks for sale instead of the bake sales.  All

snacks will be 50 cents.  Students are asked to donate 1 or 2 packages of snacks,

depending on the amount. The students can bring their snacks the day of snack sales

or the week of snack sales.  Healthy snacks could include things like:  granola or

cereal bars, trail mix, fruit roll ups, fruit bars, crackers, juice boxes, small water

bottles, cheese sticks, pretzels, fresh fruit (bananas, apples), sugar free hard candies.

We will not be selling soda, chips, cookies, and candy bars.

Healthy snack sales will be held monthly.  Dates will be posted on the monthly calendar,

weekly e-mail of events and happenings, and a weekly ConnectEd message will be sent as a

reminder.  The teacher will send out notes when it is your child’s turn to provide snacks.

All of our students will have the opportunity to purchase.  The office will call each class

down when it is time to purchase the goods. All proceeds go back to the classrooms to purchase

needed supplies or other educational resources.
