Mrs. Raffaeli's Art Room

Hi! I'm Mrs. Raffaeli, and I teach art at Kenwood Elementary. The 2020-2021 School year will be my tenth year teaching at Kenwood. I have been very blessed to be apart of this amazing group of people, and I'm especially glad to be imparting my knowledge of art to the future generations in this building. I have lived in Kearney Nebraska since I was 9 years old, and before that my family and I moved around a bit but still within Nebraska. I was taught art by KPS art teachers since my 4th grade year, and these leaders helped to shape me into the person I am today. Art class was always the place I looked forward to being each day. It was a place of creativity, solace, and peace for me. I want my students to feel this way when they come into my art room, and I hope to teach them how dull the world would be if we didn't have art. Art is in almost every career choice from engineering and architecture to the trades. Without a clear understanding of color theory, and the elements and principals of design, what a dim world we would live in. Thankfully, art class can give our kiddo's a place to release their feelings, expand their ideas, and put into practice what they are learning in other rooms throughout the day. Even at the youngest ages, our kids can gain practical knowledge in the art room, which will help them develop life skills that can take them anywhere as they grow. Thank you for caring about Art, and l can't wait for the new school year to begin!
