Mrs. Roesler

Hello Kenwood students and parents!

My name is Mary Roesler, and I have been the school librarian at Kenwood Elementary since 2012. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Education degree in 7-12 English from the University of Nebraska Kearney, and a Master of Science degree in Instructional Technology with a School Librarian concentration from the University of Nebraska Kearney. My previous experience in education was teaching high school English and Speech I at Gibbon High School. I have worked as a paraprofessional at Horizon Middle School and at Kearney High School. Libraries and books have always been central in my life. I have worked in and loved a variety of libraries for over half of my life from a public library to a university library, and now in an elementary school library. Someday, I would love to add Bookmobile Librarian to my credentials. Working in a library on wheels is definitely on my bucket list. I completely agree with Jorge Luis Borges, "Paradise will be a kind of library." I believe there is no better place to be lost than in a good book and a book can truly be a best friend.

I teach all Kindergarten through Fifth grade students in library class once a week. Students will learn library and information skills, technology skills, digital citizenship, and literature appreciation in library class, as well as have the opportunity to check out books. I look forward to seeing all of you in the library and at Book Fairs!
