Welcome Page
Welcome to the Kenwood Cougar family. Currently, I am the Transitional Learning Classroom teacher focusing on helping neurodivergent students reach their full potential. I graduated from UNK and UNL and have enjoyed being a Speech-Language Pathologist since 1999 in a variety of settings (hospitals, outpatient, home health, schools, etc.). My favorite has been elementary by far. I grew up in Kearney and my husband, Shane, and I were fortunate enough to move back to this great community in 2006. We have three amazing children (Jillian, Ryan, and Carter) and a labradoodle, Finn. I have been working for Kearney Public Schools since 2010.
Some of my favorites include:
- Color: blue, red
- Hobbies: camping, boating, fishing, reading, running, lifting weights, walking our dog
- Foods: caramel apple pie & cheeseburgers
- Candy: dark chocolate
- Drink: coffee
- Restaurants: ANY
Many people are not really sure what a speech-language pathologist is. I think the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association did a great job with the following presentation explaining what my role is. Please see the link below.
